Daniel Wright
Landscape Artist
Biography
A self-taught artist of pastoral landscapes and countryside scenes, Inspired by a passion for angling and being by the riverbank, soaking up the endless changes in colours, moods and reflections throughout the different seasons, whilst veering away from the complications of human presence.
A lack of too much detail is intentional, leaving the vision to be interpreted more widely.
Born in 1973, based in Northamptonshire and working predominately in oils.
Having worked in and around c.19th & c.20th British art since a teenager, influences are bountiful, from the early visionary works of Samuel Palmer RWS, the looser sketches of John Constable R.A, Irish art, the Impressionists and so on.
Not every painting has to have a start, middle and end, simple can be just as attractive.
Sometimes a painting just happens, sometimes it doesn't, instead it can direct its author in a polite, gentle manner. Not that a painting is ever finished, it isn't, it's about having the confidence to put the brushes down and walk away.
"Enjoy beautiful things and beauty which is not things"
